Inspired by my new travel illustration book - The Traveling Sketcher: City published with Penguin Random House. Learn to draw your travel memories with illustrator and author Alice Mawdsley (@alicemawdsleyillustrates).
This workshop is the recorded online version of my sold-out Cass Art workshop at their new King's Cross location - this time drawing a scene from Barcelona featured in my new book - The Traveling Sketcher: City.
I am aware not everyone is able to attend my live drawing workshops. To make my workshops more accessible, you can now follow along with this recorded workshop - filmed on my camera. A 90 minute exclusive drawing workshop teaching you how to use coloured pencils to draw your own travel postcard you can keep or send to loved ones.
For the workshop we will be focussing on a photo I took in Barcelona, used as the reference for the illustration opening chapter eight in the book 'Other Ways to Sketch'. I will be sharing techniques to show perspective and architecture in the distance, so we can explore intuitive ways to create an impression of a scenic view either at home or when on-location.
Materials: Sketchbook or drawing paper plus a selection of coloured pencils.
